Foot Filter: Glycyrrhizae

We've got a special one right here. Glycyrrhizae - if you don't recognize this artist's abnormal name, and haven't seen their artwork, then you're living an unfulfilled life. Every picture to their name envelops multiple layers of professional-grade shading with eye-catching and thought-provoking colors. If there was ever an artist to inspire deeper messages through the detail and glamor of their work, it would be Glycyrrhizae. The only disappointment, however, is that I'm so poor at deciphering these messages. Enjoy the masterwork toes.

The above image was recipient to one of my loosely conceptualized stories, but it was shelved due to the storyline basically hinging on an advanced, dual narrative. It was just such an interesting concept to have a sorceress revealing her bare legs and feet, outside of the traditionally lengthy clothing they usually wear.

Toe movement is hard to convey in an image, where you're given a single frame to convey everything in the world to the viewer. This, in flagrant disregard for difficulty of the task, is an example of excellent toe movement. In the above image, you can practically see her toes flexing - rolling down one after the other - in a subtle, wave-like fashion.

One of the trends you may notice among these images is the existence of characters in a traditionally non-barefoot environment, revealing their bare feet to some extent. It's one of the small details that makes his work so impressionable and memorable, especially among the vast wealth of great foot images in existence.
